Pros: Beautiful 3D rendering on the Pentax 67
Cons: None
Sharpness: 10    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 7    Value: 10    Camera Used: Pentax 67 TTL

The rendering and colors of this lens are creamy and rich (without being oversaturated). The images are detailed and have a lovely 3D-ness. It is sharp but not at all sterile or clinical.

On the 67, it is equivalent to a 52mm f1.2 on 35mm. Meaning, to get a similar DOF on a 35mm camera, you would need a 52mm f1.2 lens. On APS-C, you would need a 34mm f0.8--but good luck getting the creamy background and level of detail that this lens captures on a 67.

Not my shot, but a nice example of what this lens can do: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kaz_55/25754222910/in/photolist-2mT9GkZ-2mmink...-dSLvob-fvqwMv

I didn't care for this lens on my Pentax K-1 with a dumb adapter.

But when I put it onto my Panasonic micro four thirds camera with a Metabones Speed Booster. The sharpness increased and the bokeh became terrific!

Pros: Extremely sharp, light and easy to focus
Cons: None
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: 6X7, 67 II, 645 Z

I started using an older SMC 105 Takumar at our Office in the 1980's and I found it was extremely sharp, it gave a "normal" FOV on the 6X7. One of my pictures of a newly restored watercourse was used to make a magnificent 4 feet by 8 feet color background for a Ministry of Agriculture kiosk that was used at fairs all around Quebec for a couple of years. I bought one for myself after I retired, a newer late-model 67 and it proved equally sharp on my Pentax 67 II. Now I'm using it on a digital 645 Z camera with a Pentax '67 to 645' adapter in automatic exposure Av mode. Its large maximum aperture makes focusing very easy as the image readily snaps in and out of focus in the viewfinder. It acts as a short telephoto on the 645 sensor (equivalent to an 85 mm in FF). Closest focusing distance is only one meter though. For landscape and scenery pictures, it proves to be very sharp at middle apertures, f/8 to f/16 being its optimum opening range.

Pros: Build quality, fastest, has character.
Cons:
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 8    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: 6x7 MLU, K-5

S-M-C Takumar user here. A lot of glass inside, and thus heavy. It's a lens with character and very well designed. Fastest 6x7 lens (not taking into consideration adapted projector lenses and the like). Nine aperture blades. It's a beauty. What more can you ask for?

Check out this awesome review:

Pros: Excellent
Cons: No
Sharpness: 10    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: Asahi Pentax 6x7

I have the SMC Takumar 105 f 2.4 version, I find it fantastic, it has a superlative sharpness, it is easy to handle, it is very bright, very little distortion, zero aberrations. He is my faithful companion. I owned SMC Pentax 67 90 mm, but I think without fear of denial that the 105 is in a bit sharper. look at yourself the images that pulls out is slow. (sorry my english).

Pros: Bokeh, fast aperture, 9-blade aperture, light weight
Cons:
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: Pentax 6X7 and 67

As for me the 105mm is a real "portrait" lens, not the specially designed for the protrait 165mm f/2.8. The 105mm is handy and lightweight like 90mm f/2.8.

This lens has a smooth and very pleasant bokeh effect. At the fully open aperture this lens creates a light, hardly noticeable swirl of the background, which I like very much. It adds a bit of “magic” to the bokeh effect making the 105mm lens stand out from its analogues even in other medium format systems.

It’s also worth mentioning that when Asahi entered the medium-format market, it simply had to create a lens with unique characteristics in order to gain a foothold on this market.

My little review on this lens: http://skrasnov.com/pentax-67/105mm-f24/

Absolutely love this lens
The heft can help steady the lens and keep the blur away.

Pros: Perfect lens
Cons: Just like the camera, a little on the heavier side

This is the kit lens of the Pentax 6x7, it is the perfect lens, equivalent to the 50mm in the 35mm system.

Pros: Bokeh, character, contrast/colours.
Cons: Sharpness, minimum focusing distance.
Sharpness: 8    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 9    Camera Used: Pentax 67II

If you have a K mount, and I assume you do, this lens is essentially the medium-format version of the xx 50mm f/1.4. Used right, both can produce wonderful, contrasty portraits with absolutely gorgeous bokeh. Used incorrectly, both can be soft / mushy and generally bleh, with average colours. Sharpness leaves something to be desired (it's adequate); that said, it's intended use is not as a landscape or even product lens. It's close focusing distance is frustratingly far. But it really shines at approximately 7 - 15 fifteen feet as a portrait lens, and there is really nothing else in the 67 lineup, as far as I know, that fulfills the same role. At 150 and 165, you would lose that lovely field of view to object isolation ratio, if I can express it that way, that is the unique and wonderful thing about this lens. I have seen the images from the 90mm (I debated getting this lens instead), and they don't seem to have the same character.

I have the SMC version.

For perspective, I have three 67 lenses, and in order of preference they are the 45mm (best), 105mm, then 75mm 4.5.

this lens became a great friend on three pentax cameras.
it keeps on jumping from one to another
have the smc pentax version, bought new in box in a photo shop, so payed more than usual..
i barely used it on 67. for digital bodies, adaptors are no name brand, 67 to 645 and 67 to K-1 cost 45 usd each on ebay.
highly recommended lens, plenty of possibilities for a lot of situations.

Cons:

If I wanted to make a living shooting people with slide film this lens would
be my choice, because so many people have done exactly that with it
very well, Mario Testino for one.
I loved buying using and selling a few of these.
Top lens for the 67 or later versions.

Pros: Fastest lens, Cheap, Small
Cons: Closest distance

I have takumar version 105mm f2.4

I could see the sharpness at F/2.4 and it provides best quality. Everything is perfect for this lens. Well I recommend you to buy the recent one with the rubber focus ring. I don't like the metal focusing ring to focus...

One con for this lens is that the closest distance is 1.0m which is far for this lens. Well you still can do close head shot for portraits.

Pros: Superative Bokeh! Sharp and contrasty
Cons: Minimal focus
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 10    Value: 10    Camera Used: Pentax 67

It's really a must have lens when you using 67 in term of technical aspect(a little soft at f/2.4 but from f/5.6 onwards is tack sharp) is nothing amazing but it is has strong beautiful character. Once you use it you will start swearing how magical the lens is. It has telecentric lens design similar to Nikon 58mm 1.4G(if you know how beautiful is the bokeh from this lens) just imagine when you use on a Pentax 67 it even more beautiful...

update(it's Double-Gauss design) I make a mistake previously

Pros: sharp, fast, 3-d effect, excellent for portrait.
Cons: may be subject to yellowing.
Sharpness: 9    Aberrations: 9    Bokeh: 10    Handling: 9    Value: 9    Camera Used: Full Frame 135 Canon

This is one of my go-to portrait lenses for full-frame 135. I couple it using the Pentax "P Adapter" . I have never used it with 6x7 body, so my review is for 35 only. This is for the S-M-C version.

I adore this lens for portrait shots where I don't want any vignette, or would otherwise have to correct for vignette. Specifically, I substitute using this instead of the legendary SMCT 1.8/85 when I want even field illumination.

Background blur quality is outstanding, foreground blur is very good, and color rendition is good. Has plenty of resolution for a Canon 6d. This is one of the lenses that can produce a strong 3-D effect under the right lighting conditions. Yes, it's a large lens on 35, but totally worth the size and weight!

Even with the added cost of adapting this to 35, I still consider this model an excellent value.
