.....here I am again with some Pentacon 2,8/100 bellows shots using my M42 Novoflex bellows - the Novoflex 1,5 extender, my Canon 400D (A-modus/-0,7f) and the 430EX flashlight....all shots handheld...I still think this lens is multipurpose gem, because I like it also very much for portrait shots.....as shown by "orio"....

ISO 800?? WOW, excelent cam.

hand-held? Humm...I beleave you Smile

Were there a warmish filter in the light? PP? Why I ask? Because the lens is more cooler than I can see in the pic. To my eyes the pentacon 100 is cooler and I don't see that in your nice portrait.

Regards, Rino.

I had a few 135mm Meyers/Pentacons at once in my hands and I noticed, that even the same models (same version of barrel) can have differently colored coating. I believe, that 100mm or 200mm Pentacons/Meyers are affected in the same way. Different batches of the same lens can cause different color casts.

Some of them are violet, some of them bluish, other a bit reddish and even different colours can be found (I'm not 100% sure, I can't take a look at them now, but I think green or yellow tint was on one of them, too). The reddish or yellow tint of coating should cause colder colours, while the blue-one should make the colour warmer. Violet or purple coating should be the best for greens.

Thanks No-X

Yes, you are right with some pentacon lenses about the coating change. But:

1- Not in all pentacons the MC change (example: pentacon multicoating 1,8/50)

2- The tendency in pentacon´s lenses is to maintain the optical performance (color cast included).

Rino.

They made from that material what they had , Russians also did it.
