I went hunting.....with my camera here are a few things I caught in my viewfinder.
#1 Tree branch...not to hard to capture as it does not move terribly fast...maybe in wind or sudden flood.

#2 Noxious weed called Patterson's curse...again slow moving except in fierce wind gusts.Although it seems to spread itself really well across the grass land.

#3 Superb Blue Wren...a tiny little character with usually a harem of females about 6 in a group...my favorite tiny bird...a real challenge to photograph.I cropped this a bit.

#4 A few Kangaroos...they appear to have bad eyesight as I really was not to far away from them...and wearing a red shirt you think they would have noticed Very Happy

#5 Mum and joey

#6 I am sure they could hear the clicking of the camera but could not work out what it was.Oh how I wish I had a light 200-300mm +monopod

Hi mo,

Great roo shots, you weren't near Bathurst today and spooked one of these fellas onto the race track by any chance.. Smile

Why is it that whenever we go out, we seem to have the wrong lens?

I went out a couple of weeks ago to play with my lensbaby, it is a cheapo tilt shift 50mm lens. I was happily mucking around shooting flowers and stuff, testing out what the lens did, when i came across a lyrebird Shocked Like you i wished i had my 180 or 250 with me.... ahh well

lyrebird Shocked

I feel your pain...we have one nearby...I mean about 50km away it has a regular stomping ground...I will have to try and capture it ....on camera of course.
Nowhere near Bathurst Laughing
In regards to the Roo's it seems it is "boxing" season...I caught two at it ,but only managed very ordinary shots(I can post them if you want)..... boy they really kick one another!! and I never knew they actually grunt Shocked I thought it was somebody nearby then realized it was a male Roo so I thought I had better retreat... Laughing

Decent collection of pics there Moira. I had a rather frustrating day trying to get bird pics with my Bigma. Sight the bird, raise the lens and the little sods have buggered off. Wagtails, new holland honey eaters and various other little bird species including fairy wrens were about at my dad's girlfriend's place. Her place is near Swan Bay and also one of the migratory locations for a few northern hemisphere water birds.
